Parents who bring children MUST STAY with them the whole time.

If the parent does not pay to skate,

they  must leave their physical driver's license or state ID in our ticket office u

ntil they leave with the children they came with..

I am an adult bringing my children and their friends. What's this mean? I'm not 18 but want to come skate on Saturday without my parent - tell me how My Child was invited to a birthday party Saturday Evening. What do I need to do?

A Note From Lorain Skate World

Lorain Skate World has always been about more than skating.

For generations, this rink has been a place where families gather, kids laugh, friendships form, and memories are made. Long before smartphones and social media, roller rinks were the original social network — a place where people connected face to face, moved their bodies, and learned how to be part of a community.

We believe roller skating is one of the healthiest activities around. It builds confidence, coordination, and resilience. It brings people together. It gives kids a safe place to belong — and families a place they can trust.

Keeping a space like this open isn’t easy. It takes constant care, clear expectations, and sometimes difficult decisions. Our first priority will always be safety — especially for families with younger children — and creating an environment where everyone feels welcome, comfortable, and respected.

Most of our guests come here for the right reasons: to skate, to have fun, and to enjoy time together. When we make changes to policies, it’s never to exclude — it’s to protect what makes this place special.

We are committed to:

  • A safe, family-friendly atmosphere
  • Positive social interaction
  • Respect for staff and fellow skaters
  • Preserving roller skating as a healthy, joyful tradition

Thank you to the families, skaters, and community members who support us, follow our expectations, and help keep Lorain Skate World a place we’re proud to open every weekend.

We don’t just run a rink — we protect a tradition.
