Policies

House Rules

Our goal is to provide a safe, wholesome, fun experience for the entire family.  To ensure such a safe, fun, wholesome environment for everyone, the policies listed below are established and enforced.

Roller skating is a strenuous and fast-moving sport. By putting on skates and participating in this form of recreation you are personally assuming the risk of an accident inherent in this and any similar sport. It is in the nature of this recreation that people fall down or run into one another on occasion. If you are not willing to assume that risk, please do not roller skate.

If you doubt your ability to roller skate, please consider this notice before proceeding. We cannot be responsible for any injuries which occur to our patrons while they are in this facility. Because of the normal risk of maintaining balance on skates, and the probability of occasional contact between skaters, accidents can and do happen. You must voluntarily assume the risk of injury when you skate.

By entering our building you agree to abide by all rules and regulations, which have been established and are enforced for the safety of all skaters.

Rink Policies:
  • Checks are not permitted for admission, standard birthday parties, gift shop items or concessions.  Checks may be accepted for skate sales, private parties, practice/club fees.  Returned checks will result in a $35 fee.  Any checks that are accepted may require a photo ID with address matching the check.  Business, school or private organizations may be exempt from these restrictions, just ask!

  • Credit cards/debit cards are accepted with NO fees, however a $2 minimum applies.  An ATM is also available for your convenience.

    • We may ask that the wheelchair be used up against the wall if we are somewhat busy.
    • If we are too busy (meaning that the chance of someone with skates on running into the chair is high) we may ask that you either:
      •  refrain from using the wheelchair on the floor altogether (we'll suggest another time to come back and try again)
      • or only come onto the floor when smaller crowds are present (couples skates, boys/girl skates, etc).
    • If you are planning a party that includes someone in a wheelchair, please let us know.  We will be sure that your party is held downstairs.
    • Motorized wheelchairs should not be operated at speeds faster than most skaters.

  • Non-medical strollers are only permitted on our Tiny tot skating session, unless permission is granted by the ticket office.

  • Parents who wish to walk with their beginner children may do so, most of the time.   If we are busy, we may ask that you stay against the wall.  If we are too busy, we may ask you do not go on the floor without skates.

  • Prices/Ages:  Posted prices are for all skaters, regardless of age.  However, small children not skating, with a parent do not need to pay an admission.

  • Refunds:  Refunds are not given; however, we may choose to provide you with a complimentary pass on another session should the situation warrant it.  Video games and vending machines are not owned by Lorain Skate World, Inc. and refunds cannot be given by the rink.  Please let us know if you encounter a problem and we will place an out-of-order sign on the machine.
